TONTON is an online video portal for a Malaysian TV network. I lead a team of 5 flash developers to build the site within a fairly tight timeframe. Features of the site include encrypted secure multi-bitrate video streaming, in player advertising, an ad delivery system, tv schedule and the ability to create playlists. The site was built on RobotLegs AS3 framework.

Sydney Opera House

Viocorp developed the video portal for the Sydney Opera House and I was involved with building the flash elements. This included a feature panel, an interactive media menu and the video/image/audio player. It was an interesting project to work on.

Leo Burnett - Showcase

I was hired by Leo Burnett to build a cms driven credentials site to showcase their client work. The site features the ability to quickly create campaigns and then build custom showcases from those campaigns assets. Image, swf and fla assets can be uploaded through a simple interface. The cms will create a unique url with an optional password and google analytics. The CMS features a drag and drop edit environment to make it easy to quickly compile a credentials presentation. Designs for the front end were supplied and I designed the CMS.

ArtExpress2010

The Art Gallery of NSW approached us to build the online gallery for Art Express 2010 - a NSW Art Prize for Year 12 students. The Project was designed Jo at the Art Gallery. The animations were designed for high performance - by doing a swipe across the screen only a fraction of the total area is being animated. Animations were also triggered from timeline shape animations.

I have been maintaining an online pay calculator for the last 3 years. In the last year it has really started getting a strong following and is being used by a number of accountants. I also have adwords in it and pull in a nice bit of pocket money each month. In addition to the site I also built a google widget. The next iteration is going to be an iPhone app - as soon as I have earned enough money from it to buy mac mini.

Viocorp built a video portal site of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to help peple connect with the PM. In addition to the viostream solution iframed into the pm site, the site also had a video captioning solution that I built. It included playback on the video as well as an edit page in viostream.

This was one of our first premium video portals. I wasn’t leading the development but I did build a number of the components. These were the feature panel and the accordion list components. iinet are a great isp for providing this service and for their efforts in the courts.

This brief for this site was to design and develop a simple image gallery of print and photography work. I used slideshowpro (ssp) director as a CMS and hooked directly into the XML feeds for the front end. I was very impressed with the simplicity of ssp and intend to use it again for future projects.

Platform style game built for a microsoft student offer campaign. The game features performace enhancements including bitmap caching and culling of off-screen vectors. There is also an encrypted algorithm for securely updating scores in the database.

The Campaign Palace

Website for an advertising agency, The Campaign Palace, as part of a larger brand redesign in 2007. The site features a 3D background effect, blur transitions, video and a chandelier-inspired image tile transition effect. The site also has a flash CMS site that allows updating of all the copy, images and video on the site.

Faces of Windows Server

Site to promote launch of Windows Server 2008 Beta. The site allowed users to upload an image, which became part of a composite face to represent the averaged face of all the users contributing to the Beta software trial. Bespoke face detection software was used to create the composite face and a morph of the uploaded image into the composite. This was a global site which was customised for 49 locales containing 24 languages, including, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Romanian and Hebrew (RTL - reverse directional). The solution avoided the use of heavy overhead of localised typefaces, and a system was created that allowed a new language to be added within an hour.
